My story

Thirty-five years of ballroom dance on two continents.

Amir Shafi competing early in his career — Early in my competitive career, USA.

The United States

I trained in the American ballroom tradition and spent more than ten years teaching and competing there. I was a member of the National Dance Council of America.

Paris

Twenty years ago I moved to Paris and began teaching here, privately — singles and couples.

A competition ballroom — On the competition floor.

Competition and travel

ProAm — a professional dancing with an amateur partner — has been my specialty for 35 years. With my students I have won first place in Riga, Dallas and many other competitions, and danced in Brazil, Argentina, Cuba, Dubai, thirty US states and across Europe.

I also accompany students on dance cruises dedicated to social ballroom, with a live band every evening.
